Hi! I am a Senior Design Strategist with a deep passion for User Research and creating engaging user experiences that span both digital and physical environments.

I am a hybrid Designer and Researcher with a BFA in Visual Communications and MA/MBA in Design Strategy. I LOVE the “messy” phase of the design process — synthesizing user research and data, combining blue sky thinking with business implications to develop the right solutions, and getting crafty to test and iterate that product or experience.

I have a MA + MBA in Design Leadership from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and a BFA in Communication Design from Washington University in St. Louis. I started my career in editiorial design and while I loved the fast paced nature of working at a weekly/monthly magazine, I wanted more to be more hands on in understanding customers and designing various types of solutions. This is what led me to seek out a career change and go to grad school.

I was on a TV show! ABC’s The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition! In addition to being an experience designer / design strategist, I am also an avid baker! I started baking as a young child and over time it became one of my favorite creative activities. I particularly love cake design and dreaming up recipes that combine my Southern roots with my love for travel. You can see those on my website and blog Bianca Bakes. I always have a little project going on that revolves around baking.

While I am very well versed in design thinking, I decided to take some courses on Design Thinking specifically for food at Francesca Zampollo’s Online School of Food Design. I am very passionate about Food Experience Design (Food Design Thinking) and see so many opportunities for change and innovation in this space. My interest in Food Design thinking spans all realms related to food — food waste, spaces in which we consume food, tools we use to consume food, food television etc.
